ABC Dance Class started offering classes in area preschools in 2009. ABC Dance Class is designed to teach young children the basic fundamentals of dance in a nurturing environment. Leigh Anne Burris has taught with several different preschool programs, taught at Nice 3 Dance Studio and is currently teaching at Pivot Dance Center. Leigh Anne and her staff are excited to share their love of dance and the arts with young children.
Leigh Anne Burris, a native of the Eastern Shore, is now bringing her passion for teaching preschool children dance to Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore. She started dancing at the age of three at Joy Dance Studio and continued after its closing with Courtney School of Dance, ESO, and The Dance Loft. During high school she performed with The Madrigal's.
After graduating from Arcadia High School, she attended college at Old Dominion where she continued to study dance. Her studies included ballet, tap, jazz, and modern. She was a member of the ODU Dance team for three years. They performed at various events including ODU basketball and soccer games. She was also a member of the ODU Dance Theater and performed in several dance concerts. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Counseling. This is where she developed a true passion for teaching young children the joys of dance.
